Penne pasta with BBQ

Versatile and preferred by the entire population of Italy and surely found at least once (or twice, or more) even in your pantry, the penne type pasta never goes out of style and never loses any of its cooking magic. Be it with a traditional Bolognese sauce, maybe Carbonara for palates that crave rich textures, there is nothing and no meal that this small, cylindrical pasta can not improve.

And all you need for our recipe you can find right here and right now:

  • 10 pieces of bacon

  • 300g cheddar cheese

  • 200ml tomato paste

  • 200ml BBQ sauce

  • 2 chicken breast pieces cut into small cubes

  • 2 spoons of olive oil

  • 1 piece of chopped up onion

To these ingredients naturally add some salt and paper, the core of every culinary expedition! And without them we would not even be here, so of course, a portion of penne pasta, as we’ve so praised and mentioned them previously. While you take care of the rest of the steps, you can let the pasta boil, thus easily synchronizing their cooking process with the preparation of the sauce

For starters, add two spoons of olive oil in the pan, where you will roast the chopped up onion. You can then add the pieces of bacon until they catch a lovely colour, taking some of the strong flavor of the onion. Once you are done with these first steps, you can add in the remaining oil from the pan, the pieces of chicken breast that will follow the same frying process as its previous companions. A bit of salt and pepper, and then you can reunite the ingredients once more. In the most spectacular and delicious blend, combine the tomato paste with the barbecue sauce.

And now is the most anticipated moment, the one where you can finally add the pasta, mixing it vigorously to catch a bit of every component of the sauce. Sprinkle some cheddar cheese and while you can cover the pan with a lid and let it rest for a few moments, you have enough time to decide which bowl you want to pick this time and what type of movie you’re in the mood for.

You don’t even have time to realize when the time flew by so quickly, and the BBQ pasta is already ready to be savored and the pride and hunger that swell up within you in one quick rush are the best indicators of a job truly well done.
